About Us

Kristi Snyder grew up in rural Ohio where she attended Ashland University and graduated with a double major in elementary education and early childhood development.  After graduating from college, she began teaching.

In 1998, with inspiration from her sister, Amanda, Kristi began experimenting with various natural stone beads, sterling silver accent pieces and Beadalon wire. She designed enough jewelry to fill a basket and presented them to her fellow teachers. She was delighted to find her friends and co-workers emptied the basket and demanded more! Encouraged by the positive reception of her jewelry, Kristi took her passion on the road.  She attended shows and festivals along the east coast every weekend.

Within a couple of years, her "side business" turned into a full time job.  She decided to put her teaching career on hold and devote her time to creating unique jewelry.  With the support of her family and friends, especially her husband, Brad, Kristi formed Snyder’s Silver Lining. She quickly turned her home office into a creative zone where she spent 12-14 hours a day designing her one of a kind wearable art and researching geology in order to find the stories behind all of the natural gemstones she uses in her creations.

Kristi soon discovered that handmade jewelry at a craft festival is not unique. She was determined to stand out in the crowd.  In order to connect completely with her customers, Kristi loaded her truck with every bead she owned and displayed them so her customers were free to design their own jewelry the day of the show. Unlimited possibilities and special attention assured that every customer left with the perfect product.

It is not hard to spot Kristi’s booth at a craft show.  It is the booth where women, men and children interact with one another, asking “do you think this bracelet goes with my shirt,” or while designing the popular Mother’s and Grandmother’s bracelets, they open their wallets to compare pictures of their children and grandchildren. 

Kristi is proud of the jewelry she creates and stands firmly behind her products. She uses only high-grade sterling silver findings and natural and semi-precious gemstones. Her necklaces and bracelets are strung on Beadalon wire composed of 49 fibers of stainless steel covered in a nylon coating, which assures her customers their jewelry is not only beautiful but durable.

Kristi guarantees every product she makes. If a customer returns home to find the bead used in her unique piece of jewelry is a shade off from her favorite sweater, the bracelet is a little too large, or the necklace is a little too short, Kristi will adjust the piece of jewelry to their liking - no questions asked. Kristi and her husband currently reside in North Carolina.

Her commitment to her customers and product has resulted in a wide and loyal customer base.
